Hiya all, I'm having to switch to haylage as hay is making my boy cough as its too dusty.
I was thinking of using silvermoor lite or Timothy - I don't want anything that will make him fizzy at all.
Anyone got any recommendations?
Thanks in advance.

Mole Valley Farmers own brand High fibre is what I use, cheaper and good quality, never had any issues. I've found dead rabbits and huge pieces of fencing wire in Slvermoor, plus mine didn't seem as keen on it and there was the odd bale that several ponies wouldn't eat for some reason.

I did a little experiment recently as we have small bale haylage, silvermoor is cheaper but there's less volume in it than marksway. Both packets were mouldy. Our small bales contained three times as much as the bagged stuff, if you can find a local quality small bale supplier, that would be more economical than the bags.

We've never found anything other than nice haylage in our silvermoor bales. they are a really helpful company and when i messaged them for advice re an older mare with dental problems they sent me some samples out for her to try etc.
