For my first ever gymkana and my new horses first ever outing!

LOL - a gymkana is a hang over from the days that the pony club ruled! Tends to be a bit of everything - do you have the schedule? It should tell you what classes are on.

A gymkhana is basically where you and your pony have to race against other horses and ponies in different things eg bending, egg and spoon race, flag race etc
It's good fun!
<u>What you should wear </u>
Well, if it is just a small local show, I would wear cream jods, white short and tie and either a Pony Club Jumper (if you have one) or a plain coloured jumper, with boots and chaps or jodphur boots, also if you are wearing a jockey skull cap, a black or navy silk would look smarter.
<u>What your pony should wear</u>
Well, obviously for travelling in she will need to wear travel boots and a tail guard. Just take her normal tack and a plain coloured saddle cloth or numnah. I don't know if there any rules on bits but I think any type of bit will be acceptable at a local show. Also, she can wear boots if she normally does.
