After a little bit of advice....In just under 3 weeks I am moving to Scotland taking my retired horse with me. We have found him a lovely quiet yard at the other end which I think he will be really happy at. He is an ex GP show jumper and is now fully retired enjoying the fat life. He is usually a super chilled horse but is a little stressy to travel. I am worried about this long journey for him, he will be without me and will be stopping at two different yards before he reaches his new home. I am based in Hampshire and we are moving to 20 minutes outside of Perth.
Is there anything I can do before he travels? I am going to be using electrolytes for a few days before he leaves. I have the vet coming to do a health check prior to him travelling to ensure he is fit and healthy to go. Is there any form of calmer that is effective just to the edge off? He can be a little anxious but when I'm with him he chills out, again, if I was travelling with him I would not be worried!
He is going with Eric Gillie who I have only heard good things about and I'm sure they have dealt with far far worse but I'm just being an overprotective mummy!
