prescription problem

just wondered if any one as had any problems when trying to get pergolide on prescription.
my vet as give me prescription today, i have took it to my local chemist, who as imformed me that he may not be able to get it for me due to the small print written by my vet. he is going to try and let me know later today, if not instead of paying £40 i may have to pay £200 from vets.

I'm a pharmacist -
does the prescription say "for veterinary use only", "for use in an animal under my care" and more importantly "for supply under the cascade system" or word to that effect?

yes it does say that, but my pharmacist as just this minute rang me,and said he can get them for me. he as rang the pharmacists board for advice.

because it is a human medicine it must say for supply under cascade system, so thats what he was probably wondering about. If he doesn't see vet scripts often then he may not be familiar with what to do. I get hundreds in my pharmacy as the company I work for are miles cheaper for private and vet prescriptions - we guarantee to beat all other prices.

Have you tried the online animal pharmacies? I've always found Petmeds to be best price on most stuff but there are several others if you have a google - you fax or email the prescription over to them and they send the meds out in the post.
