Looking for present ideas for my niece's 10th birthday. She loves ponies but hasn't ridden loads and doesn't have her own. Has regular-ish lessons with me, every couple of weeks on a borrowed pony where I work.
She has a little grooming kit, hat, body protector, gloves etc.

Ideas please!

Thanks :)

How about a trekking ride to a pub with a few friends of hers? They could have a drink of squash with chips whilst there! The ride doesn't have to be amazingly long but I remember doing it when I was a kid and LOVED it!!!! :D

I still suscribe to Pony Mag :o Its a really good magazine for young riders, lots to read and do, and they still do the 'collecting tokens' thing to get rozzies!

I have to agree with the magazine subscription idea too! If she is pony mad, at least she will get a monthly installment of reading all about ponies! Not only that but she will learn too!

Pony is a good one, the only one I think so yeah, that's what I would do.

They were good fun. That takes me back a bit lol. The place we used to use was near Abergavenny , I think the ride was about 1 hour each way and about 3/4 hour to grab a bite and a drink :D

As horsey things go, they definitely stick in the mind as the scenery is so good up that way.

My daughter (just 11) LOVES anything from Sugar Cubes http://www.sugarcubesponies.co.uk/index.phpSome of the reduced T shirts are lovely, always good quality too. If you're careful with colours, we've bought a long sleeved top and then managed to find a Capz matching hat cover in the local tack shop. She also has this Sugarcubes Snugglesac, ideal for all the sleepovers she does now she's a bit older.

Tyrell Katz do a range of horsey print items from duvet covers to lunch boxes, which are widely available (daughter had the lunch box last summer and is still using it)

Luv Ponies http://www.luvponies.com/ and mad4ponies http://www.mad4ponies.com/acatalog/index.htmldo lots of gifts

Or you could treat her (and you of course!) to tickets for HOYS or Olympia

I remember when my granny bought me a magazine subscription for my birthday when I was little and I loved it - so always a good idea if she doesn't already buy them.
I do horsey cartoons and I sell prints of my designs as well as cards - my little cousin is horsey mad and has a few on her wall - www.alexunderdownart.co.uk on the greetings card pages - might be an idea!:D

Wow thanks for the ideas - there are some really good ones!
Have just looked up Pony mag and says leading 'teen' magazine - would it be a bit old for her? She hasn't been riding long but has great ambitions! Anyway the bug might not last, but it is well and truly there for the moment!

Pub ride complete with chips is a great idea! Combining her two great loves.

Thanks also Dubsie for the pony links, tickets to HOYS or Olympia are also a rather good idea... but I might perhaps be doing that more for me than for her....
