My mare is going on loan and I am thinking of giving a present to each of the grooms and the YO on her old yard. They have looked after her well during her rehab and I wanted to show them I appreciate it.

For the grooms I was thinking either give them a small present each, but was not sure what to get them and if perhaps it would be better to just give them a small amount of money as a "tip" that they can spend on whatever they need :-)

I have already offered the YO to give testimonials, and was thinking of buying her some nice wine.

:-) cakes sounds good too

If I get vouchers for the grooms, what sort of shop might be a good idea? It is a rural area, so there are not that many shops close to the yard.

I used to always give the grooms on the yard L'Occitane hand cream in this kind of situation! Greatly appreciated and shows thought and care

The lady I help out bought me some really nice hand wash and moisturiser for Xmas, nicer than I would normally buy for myself and I was delighted with it.

I moved yards last week and had a similar dilemma. Luckily, I found a chocolate shop in local town where everything was made on premises. They had chocolate horses, stilletto shoes, lollipops, chocolate boxes with chocolates inside, and they could personalise everything with icing.

There is probably a similar shop near you if you like the idea?

I am a groom and gifts from owners are a lovely treat :)

We get easter eggs / wine / chocs. We have one fantastic full livery owner that brings us biscuits everytime she comes up!
