Just a quick intro for those of you that don't venture into CR. Precious is a 4yr old homebred by my YO whom we broke in August. She's been out to Dressage the last couple of weeks coming 2nd and 1st :D Up until today she'd only hacked round the village which is all road work and today was brave pants day - a hack into the next village, through the woods and back home. Normally a hack of just over an hour.

This was the first obstacle, a humungous tv. I'll never understand the mentality of some people

Saw a couple of people further up so stood and chatted to them for a few minutes and she stood perfectly still the whole time :)

Next obstacle was a Bridge which is very echo-ey or a shallow stream that flows quite fast. We did them both twice :)

Note the 'not-sure-ears':D

There is a gate straight after this but someone had left it open and there dog walkers behind so I left it for them.

We then had our first canter that wasn't in a school or paddock, my god she's got a long stride.

We then bumped into my hairdresser on her horse with a couple from her yard so walked with them for a few minutes having a natter then left them as I headed for home.

The next challenge was the Trout Fishery. Poles sticking out into the Bridleway or fishermen casting as you go past :(

However you've just got to get on and deal with it :)

We then had to cross a main road (not too busy) to another gate which again some knobber had left open. I'd chosen this route because of the two gates so bless her, I went through and closed it then turned around and went back through and then turned around went back through closing it each time. She's never done a gate before and she didn't bat an eyelid :D

Back down into the village and past the local footbal match. Lots of grown men swearing and hollering  She had a little jig jog at this point.

Last challenge (and first on way out but wasn't taking pics then) was the roadworks piled up

She was so brave :)

By the time we got back to the yard she had a wedgie she'd pulled her brave pants up that far :eek::D:D

Clever pony :)

What a good girlie, well done both of you!

We were both very brave :D

That is brilliant, well done.

Thanks but in all fairness I just sat there taking photo's, she did all the hard work

Well done!! What a brave pone :)

Bravest ponio in the whole of Milton Keynes :p I'm gonna write to Blue Peter and ask for a badge for her :)

Well done :)
Your hacking looks lovely, very jealous!

It's very nice but having lived there for *cough cough* 40 years I don't appreciate it as much as I should :o

What a brave girl. Gives me hope for when my boy is broken in - I am terrified!

You'll be fine, Presh can lend you her brave pants when the time comes ;)

She is really cracking! What a brave and special Preshush she is :D

She's so brave unlike her 6 year old sister who upon seeing the dumped tv yesterday promptly span and bombed off back down the hill with me :D

Her sister is the grey in my signature. Chalk and cheese..............

You should appreciate it! Up in my part of Manchester the closest thing I can get to a woods is 3 miles behind a turf field with a few trees there :o
We're not too far apart!

Ooh yay! It seems her and Ned have been putting on their brave pants!!

Nice to see a post from you, it's good to hear what's going on at your end :) Even though I just see her ears, legs and a tiny bit of face, she looks gorgeous!!

I consider myself told :o We are very lucky as in these woods they've spent thousands on putting in new bridleways. We also have Aspley Heath and Woburn woods within boxing distance though they have been ruined by bad dog owners and hundreds of mountain bikers. The odd one isn't a problem but they come from miles and get a bit over excited. A couple of times I though ET was flying overhead :D

Hi Nah, I actually thought of you and your water splash as I was going through the stream. :D

I recognise that hack!!! Clever girl Precious!!

Hi CP, Still over grown with brambles but at least the bull is in the barn now for winter :)

Sounds like Des's first hack to the village - mountain bikers, quad bikes, swans taking off from river as we went over the bridge, football match (childeren so less swearing but plenty of shouting), road works, etc.

Lovely hacking, what a clever girlie and it is a pleasant sight looking through grey ears isn't it!
