Anywho Im looking to buy a present for my horsey friend, and I was looking at Schooling Exercise Books on the BHS site and Amazon.

Id be interested in recommendations for either Flatwork or Jumping Schooling Books.

Thankies!!

Can't help regarding books but I can really recommend a video/DVD called 'Dressage for Jumping' presented by Richard Davison. His 'students' are John & Robert Whitaker. The video reinforces how important flatwork is for showjumping.

It covers a training session, The young junping horse, Seeing a stride, Jumping a course, The flying change, & against the clock.

Presented well, filmed well, this is well worth getting.

look for any of anthony paalman's books. they are fascinating and invaluable i think one of the best ones is called training the showjumper or something like that. another really good book is showjumping for fun or glory
