Has anyone been to them?

I have been to the arena before but according to the information i have just received they dress it with material on the walls. Does anyone know how spooky it is?

Any information would be really useful i like to be prepared.

Hi BFG, I went last year. It was quite spooky as they do dress it with black material on the wall. Also, as the arena is quite small basically you are right next to the wall at the 'A' end and nearly on top of the judge sat at a table at the 'C' end. However, having said that, my very spooky 6 year old coped very well and I thoroughly enjoyed it! You are made to feel very special and they play music at the presentation!

I went last year and was really glad that I hired the arena a few days beforehand when the walls were already dressed and ready for the final as loads of horses spooked really badly when they had to go up near the gallery and drapes. Even though I'd been a few days before my horse was still a bit wary of them.

Although very well run I was very disappointed that all you got for getting placed in the final was a rosette. As the so called replacement for Derby House it definitely doesn't live up to their prizes. While prizes aren't everything I've been told that their showing final the previous month has fantastic prizes as they get money from sponsors for it which they choose to spend totally on that show and not split between the two.

Sorry to moan but alot of my friends went with the assumption that it would be similar to the Derby House Final and were disappointed. I'm sure you will have a great time and try and hire the arena if you can, its well worth it. Good luck!!!

Thanks i was debating hiring it before hand but my lad is a funny bu**er he is spooky but is better when he doesn’t know a place because he listens to me.

I have been once before and am going to do the dressage there on Sunday 13th so i think i will see how settled he is then decide if i need to hire it before hand.

I got my paperwork today for it and cant make up my mind what to do after my horse has behaved like an idiot each time we went out so Ive pretty much given up! Id have to go Thures and Fri plus Id have to hire it first for fear of being catapulted off the spooky beast

. It says it starts at 10am and sheets are given out at the end in a ridden presentation. So Im presuming you could be there hours?? And its £20 per entry.
