I rode the horse on Sunday along a bridleway I've never ventured up before and came across a field which was jam packed full of flints. I was amazed - there hardly seemed to be any soil!! Horse found it v.hard work. He was quite wild because it was a bit windy and rainy so seemed fine all the way home.
Turned him out 2 hours later and as he trotted across the field he was lame on his off fore which also happens to be the leg he did a tendon on. So far so good with the tendon except that he banged it 2 weeks ago and it puffed up a bit.
Still lame yesterday with no heat or puffiness in either leg. No heat in foot and not sore when pressing hard on his sole. Could he have a bruised sole or something more sinister? I just wondered whether he trod on a particularily sharp flint and bruised a tiny bit of his sole or whether a flint has moved his shoe slightly and a nail is now pressing on a sensitive bit.
Any ideas?!!!
