...But i think i just really need to get it off my chest. Over the past couple of years my horse, charlie, has had cushings which has slowly got a bit worse. This year his coat has actually come out really nicely and he looks amazing, no where near his age. Unfortunately due to the weather, we haven't been able go to much.

There's this lovely show, my favourite event of the whole year tommorow. In my first year of riding him i went (but been going since i was little) it went a bit wrong, the next year my sisters horse went (they can't go together) and the next it was cancelled. Soo this year i was getting all geared up towards it, schooled him and he is going great. Scrubbed up all his tack, bathed him...went down tonight and he's lost his front shoe (been on for about a week!!!!) so it's a no go. I've been blubbing all evening (a bit sad.. i know) but its so frustrating

I very much doubt he would be able to go next year due to his conditon. It's so upsetting because it's such a lovely show but i suppose it's how it goes...when you look forward to something it always goes wrong

Sorry for such a long post.
What will everyone else be up to this weekend

This is probably a silly question, but have you rung your farrier and asked if there is any chance he could come and put it on early tomorrow morning?

Or even rung the organiser of the show to ask if there will be a farrier there who might be able to put it on!!
All is not lost, it's just a shoe, and they can be put back on easy enough with enough begging and fluttering of eye lashes

There won't be a farrier tommorrow ad we have tried ringing our farrier all evening. I might nip along with the dog tommoz to watch or maybe take my sisters horse in a class....scary thought that is!!!
