After my introduction last year I've forgotten to post! Had a Lili Brooksby lesson a couple of weeks ago which was AMAZING :hail: Lili. Flow has a new evasion of going like a slug and sticking her head in the air like this. I had been too scared to properly boot her as she goes very light in front and makes you feel as if explosion is imminent. Lili told me to kick it, yes properly kick it, the world wouldn't end.....and it worked! No explosions. Hurrah. Simple really, horse being backwards, get it going forwards....
Worked on lengthening and collecting - I need to be careful in collecting not to just slow down. Lengthening is good now once she's got the idea that she can't ignore my leg. collecting I find more difficult. Did sideways stuff too, SI good, LY good, HP I get my brain in a fog and after starting well go diagonal. So need to practice that one!
Some pics:
Soft
Shoulder in
Love her expression here
Beginning of half pass
Princess pony
Smiles all round
Listening
Love her hind leg
Lengthening
Application of the leg! From this to this
Lesson really gave us both a boot up the arse - we've been practicing walk to canter and it's definitely a button now! Went to Solihull and did Prelim 12 last weekend where we got 67.2% and came 2nd
We finished last year on a Novice and got just over 60% - am keen to get her out to some more Novices this year but really need to work on my fitness and ensure that in the ring I don't let competition nerves mean that bad habits creep back in!
