Tell me about it - I sold one of my fave horses for £1k to a "home for life" because he had back probs and he was sold on within 2 weeks for £6.5k
Luckily someone on here saw him at a show (he is v distinctive) and told me - I am now friends with his new owner and he has landed on his feet as she adores him, but suffering a huge loss hurt!
Why aren't horsey people more honest sometimes - when you go to great lengths to ensure a good home it's a real kick in the teeth when they set out to deceive you in the first place.

its horried isnt it, hope we find his new owner
I sold my favourite horse to a friend of mine, apparently he was offered double what he paid for him the next time he took him out hunting, but declined!
He did keep him for about 2 years but was made an offer he couldn't refuse and sold him to the USA for £30,000 I was really upset when I found out Rocky was thousands of miles away and not just down the road
This is why I always write under my name in the ownership section of the passport with my name, address and phone number and "this owner/breeder would appreciate any news of this horse if they are ever sold on. Thank you". At least then you know you have done your bit to keep in touch and it's surprising how many people do ring and say 'do you remember ?? well I have them now'.
Yes, that has also happened to me but then again you may think you have found the perfect home for your 4 legged friend.
but sometimes things just dont work out sometimes for new owners and new horses.
what i really do not like is when you get someone who comes and says they have lots of experience when really they have very little and then they blam you for selling them a horse which they cannot handle.they then demand there money back or threaten to sell the poor animal to the local knacker man if they do not get a refund.
