Price of Antibiotics

Hi!

Has anyone had to get anti-b's for there horse recently and could tell me how much they cost?

Cant remember the name of them, but the big box of sachets that you would give twice a day for 5 days or once a day for 10 days?

Trimediazine powders are somewhere between £5-£6 a sachet. I just paid just over £25 for a five day course of one sachet a day.

You was robbed SC. Shelf price is £15 for a box of 10 Trimed not that vets want us to know that of course and most charge what you've paid - or more..

Vets charge £15 ish for a prescription, so no point in asking for one as it won't bring the costs down to buy online. Luckily it is the insurance company they are robbing and not me! I did ask the vets about the online drug stores, and quoted some prices at them - they said most of the stuff they could not buy trade that cheaply, and I don't doubt that's true when you factor in the massive discounts which warehouse places must get for bulk buying. I shall be happy in the knowledge that at least I am not charged call out!
