I was going around at a lovely trot, gloating away that he WILL reliably now stay on the outside track and his circles are becoming things of beauty, when a gust of wind made the [small, insignificant] 'please pick up your poo' sign go all flappy.

Two seconds later I was on the floor eating dirt and he was halfway up the school looking all 'what are you doing down there?' at me. :D

All the warning signs were there - the jump shed was full of monsters again and there was something nasty lurking in the bushes - and I just didn't pay attention.

But at least I got my first fall with him out of the way, I know my lovely safety stirrups work well and the surface isn't too bad to land on...
