I absolutely love PP, I thought it was just me, a lot of people I speak to don't like him. I wanted to use him on my mare but she's quite long and I needed a short coupled stallion. I will definately be using him in the future though on my other mare.
Look at Future Sport Horses website (www.futuresporthorses.co.uk) as they have 4 youngsters by him and out of a mare called Justwith Genoa, who is the dam of the American 4 star horse Winsome Adante. One of her foals are BEF First Premium graded and Champion event foal and the other 2 are by embryo transfer as she is quite an old girl now.. They obviously think the combination works tho as the mare is now in foal to him by ET again.
I'll make sure I take a look at Julia's pics from today! I also remember seeing Future Glamour's evaluation a couple of years ago now and have seen a few other pure tb offspring. We'll see next year what a bit of Irish throws in to the mix!
yes it is - futurity pics didn't quite capture him (no offence at all Zeus
- I still bought a couple
). Posted this just v recently and him spot on.
I do like PP a lot and wanted a change from 2 yrs of Grafenstolz so really looking forward to seeing what we get
My OH's father always wanted to put our broodmare (originally his hunter) to Primitive Rising and never got around to it so he's quite up for claiming this next one
WOW - he really is a beauty. Grafenstolz is stunning also.
I've used Future Illusion on my mare this year (both our first time) and have just got another mare who is going off to vets today for AI'ing again to Future Illusion (a bit late I know). I have absolutely no idea what I'm going to get, both big mares so am hoping for something not quite so big. Next year I will definately look at PP for the new mare but I don't think he'll do my first mare any justice as I'll always need a short coupled stallion for her.
You should get something v nice from Louis - your mares look lovely in your signature too - presume it's them! I'd be interested to see one of his foals out of a bigger mare so please post in due course
and in the mean time all the best of luck getting your 2nd mare in foal.
Hi, we have found that a foal will normally grow to the size that the mare can carry. so if you have a big mare it's likly that you will get a large foal.
We have put one of our mares (Jazmin ID/TB) to Primitive this year as the last foal she had from a TB a few years ago was a little stunner.
i have a 2yro by Primitive Proposal and out of a Criminal Law mare, who was out of a Gort Boy dam so extremely well bred for eventing and approximately 3/4 tb.
although not a looker (he is full brother to Arlington Park who has done extremely well showing), my boy really oozes class and everyone stops to admire him.
he is already 16.3hh with lovely limbs and head (bits in between don't quite match up yet!) but his movement is really WOW. he has a huge trot, beautiful balanced canter, really active hindleg with 'flicky' toes and a gallop that puts full TBs to shame.
i bought him from Louella as a weanling and have had non-stop attention from people offering to buy him since then!
if i was looking to buy another weanling i would be back there in a shot as, not only have i bought a stunner, he was also extremely well priced (considering his breeding), at just over £2k.
