I have a friend that has a lovely middleweight hunter mare. She is TBxIDxCB and has been shown fairly successfully and been a good allrounder. Her confirmation is good, she is a strong mare. Her negatives are that she isnt the most elegant mover and her head is a bit too large. She has bred two lovely foals out of a local TB stallion (flat). I'm allowed to select a stallion for this mare and have thought about primitive proposal in the hope to breed a quality hunter that would show.. ideas?

hi,

i have a 3yro by PP who is out of a Criminal Law/ Gort Boy mare who was a decent middleweight.

my boy moves like an absolute dream, he really floats along and is very athletic.
temperament, he is no sharper than most 3yros, he learns very quickly and his education has been coming along very nicely.

he is pretty huge (about 17.1hh) but the mare was a decent size and Primitive Rising and Criminal Law were both big horses too.

here is a picture of mine this spring;

thank you Maggie2; i think he is quite smart but i have rose tinted glasses where he is concerned!

i know there are a lot of PP horses out there showing v.successfully (my boy's full sister is doing well- Arlington Park) and they all seem to be lovely quality animals.

I have a black yearling gelding by him, he is definately very big and a superb stamp of a horse, stunning movement, but would definately say he was a bit sharp and VERY VERY stressy.

I have just sold a 3 year old by PP who was champion at Kent County and Bucks County only times shown (until the hunter show whern he was 4th). He won a first premium and was the most sensible and trainable horse we have worked with. He sold in two days, with a list of other people who were interested and one person who wanted first refusal if the sale fell through. I know of a couple of others and they are all very easy to do! Of course the mare is a major influence on temperament and attitude.

I have a Primitive Proposal yearling and is the most laid back and bold yearling i have ever owned... My horse dentist Dean Andrew's girlfriend Emilie Chandler used to have him on her yard and they have said he has the nicest temperament. She gained a 1st Premium at the BEF Futurity in the yearling eventer class, was the champion in her class at her venue and has the 7th highest score of all yearling eventers put forward at all venues this year (slight brag there - sorry am very proud) so i would definitley say he is a good stallion, the dam was very good too though.

I wanted to put a pic up of her, but i don't know how to do it... pm me with an email addy if you want a look at the pic.
