My poor boy. After a week boarding in rural NY state, he has two corneal ulcers on his left eye. Given how much he's been licking his paws, it seems his allergies went into overdrive and he ended up scratching his eye so much that it ulcerated
The lady with whom he boards took him to her vet and they suspected dry eye, but his tear production was found to be normal.
He needs eye ointment for five days, and then we're doing a combined trip to the hospital to see an allergist/opthamologist. Before he left, his allergies were under control through a fish-based diet and homeopathic drops, but the pollen was so bad in upstate NY that, apparently, it was like a fog descended most days.
To cheer the boy up, I bought some "yoghund" on the way home
