Just wondering how much private (RS) lessons are where you are?
As I have just booked myself in for a private jump lesson and have no idea what the going rate is these days as I haven't been to a RS in 10 years!

How long is a piece of string...the cost varies enormously according to the instructor and quality of the horses. Its probably best to give them a ring if you want a specific cost.

On a riding school horse with a BHSI £36 for an hour one to one. We pay a bit less for the less senior instructors, but I find the more highly qualified ones generally give a better lesson. More due to their methods and style than their qualifications though.....

At my old riding stables it was £25 for half hour private, cant remember how much was an hour!

I soon realised it was cheaper to keep a horse in someways rather than paying out for lessons, plus get far much enjoyment having your horse around you each day.

At my old RS a 1 hour private jumping lesson is £41.00 during the week and £46.00 at the weekend. For flatwork it's £40.00 during the week and £45.00 at the weekend.

Seriously?!
Are they worth that much money?

OMG I am so lucky!!

I pay £20 for an hours private lesson (flatwork) but she charges the same for SJ and XC schooling as well.

she is a fantastic instructor and is BHSAI

me thinks I can get away with more than one lesson a week now!

I only pay £10 for an hour with my instructor, she is amazing and has done so much to help me and my girl! We go weekly and if there are less than 4 (private lessons) she'll take diesel money off us. I'm not letting her go easily!

I pay £30 for 30-45mins SJ instruction with ex-international showjumper and olympic team member (1972) whose daughter is now on the international circuit.

£30 for 45 min, £35 for 1 hour.

That is for lesson with any of our instructors. We have two full AIs, me who is a BHSPCT and the other instructor does not have any qualifications but is very experienced.
