Does this sound sensible? My young cob lived out in a field with horrendous copper deficiency. It was in the same area they mined for iron ore and the only water source ran orange, so pretty bad! I fed him Pro Hoof to compensate. Its now 6 months down the line from moving from that area, the blue rings are gone from his eyes and hes looking pretty good. He has grown a mammoth coat and has developed horrible scurfy skin from that, although his coat is very shiny and soft on the top. Hes got a weeks worth of Pro Hoof left and I've just ordered him Pro balance, linseed and lysine. Linseed to hopefully help his skin and lysine because hes now starting work and has a pretty much forage based diet, with the addition of 0.5kgs of Rowan Barbary Forage and Fibre. Hes never had a foot problem, is totally barefoot and deals with grass fine. He has very hard, tough feet, although they have definitely grown down slightly tighter since I started the Pro Hoof. It all seemed pretty sensible when I was ordering, but just wanted some second opinions!

Not sure about the lysine, I assume you have delved pretty deep in to the diet.
As the horse has been on a good balanced mineral for quite a while, it seems you need to supplement with "hard feed" for condition and for light work.
I changed from a cereal based diet to a hi fibre, and oil and minerals diet. and found skin less itchy, hair darker, and glossy.
Per day I fed [15.00hh 475kg mature horse in light work]
500gms non molassed s/b [has to be soaked of course]
30gms minerals
a hand full of non molassed chaff
some salt
100gm micronised linseed [charnwood milling]
You might be best to mix the remaining pro hoof and the pro balance to introduce it, as I see some people are having problems with the taste.
