Pro Hoof or Pro Balance

I have just bought a new horse who hasn't got bad feet - in fact they are pretty strong and tough - but I want to feed her a supplement so that they are in as good condition as possible.

I have used Pro Hoof for my last 2 horses who had awful feet and it definitely helped.

Is there a huge amount of difference in Pro Hoof and Pro Balance?

If I recall correctly the Pro Hoof has an added dietry aid so good for horses with digestion problems and that is why it is more expensive. If your horse doesn't suffer with any of these then the Pro Balance should be fine. When I contacted Progressive Earth ages ago this is what they told me (but in far more detail, sorry I've forgotten though!)

This is what Progressive Earth advised me when I asked them this same question the other day:


"Pro balance is a basic forage balancer containing the minerals know to be low in uk forage, it also has additional biotin, methionine, lysine & vitamin e. pro hoof has double the lysine, biotin, methionine & vitamin e of that in pro balance, plus a full range of b vitamins & 15g of msm."

This basically, I think it's yea sacc the pro hoof has that pro balance doesn't.

I've fed pro hoof, pro balance and forage plus without noticing any differences so I've stuck with the cheaper pro balance
