Hello all :)

Well they are not that exciting but I am bored and thought I'd share.

And if anyone can tell me HOW THE HELL I stop that awful chicken wings I keep seem to be doing lately then I would welcome any CC!

We are right down the bottom, images DSC_0123 for just the 4 photos :)

Kind crit please, I have a lesson tomorrow night so can take it up with my instructor then :D

Lovely pics, your horse looks like he's enjoying himself!

It looks like you're getting a bit in front of the movement with your body on the take-off - maybe focus on giving with your hands first then only tilting forwards if you need to for the size of jump?

Nice pictures :D

The only thing i'd say about your 'chicken wings' :) (your words not mine) is that if you move your hands forward more in mid air, your elbows won't go backwards and out. It looks like your trying to lift him over the fence, just relax more. I have seen far far worse :)

Although i'm sure i have more problems than that when i'm jumping :D

:D They are chicken wings though, hehe! I think you hit the nail on the head there, I can get quite tense which is stupid because they are small fences. In my last lesson my instructor stood a way in front of a larger fence (larger than we usually jump!) and just asked me to look ahead, and not get so wound up. I think I will try this again tomorrow.

I'm not sure why I get like this, Charisma enjoys her jumping and doesn't tend to knock any down, the only thing I would say if we sometimes get in a little deep!

So, hands forward :D

That's the thing about riding, we all get nervous, i know i do quite a bit, and it's the hardest thing to solve. I don't think you can ever cure nerves but we have to deal with it in our own ways, and eveyone is different.

I tend to talk a lot and get bossy if anyone is doing the practice jump etc when i get nervous :D

I went through a phase (still not sure i have full recovered yet!:o) with the dreaded chicken wings. I found with me its was a nerves thing while i was getting used to him, i was thinking too much on going forward with him over the jump i was over compensating and going too forwards but not giving. What help loads was thinking 'butt back, hands forward'.

If your getting in deep sit up more and look forward all the time, with the size of the fences dont worry to much about having a full on jump possition, just about giving the hands a bit and it will all slot into place.
Lovely pics thou :)

Thank you for the tips - it doesn't help that I look at the fence and I imagine this can cause Charisma to get in quite deep because I am just looking at the base of the fence! This is why instructor stood a way off in the distance, so I could admire her instead hehe :D

Yep suffer from that as well ;). What ive found helpd is looking for you fence then when your on the right line and going towards it (as straight as poss) start looking past the fence at another point either another fence or tree whatever as long its in your eye line not on the ground. When your walking the course look for your points as you go so you can look for them as you go.
It is helping me but ive found the bigger fences tend to make me sit up a bit more, not always but im not as keen on jumping the fences for him when they are bigger! :D
