A couple of horses looked like they had a white splodge or a disk or something on their nose, Laura Collett's, Rayef was one.

I could just be seeing things but if I'm not what is it?

...lol the same they give to persistant snorers....

I have heard that some are 'medicated' with a vicks/olbas oil like substance to open the nasal passages????
Would that not cause a bit of discomfort as when I vicks my nose it kind of burns! :)

I think the verdict is out as to whether they do but I guess they do no harm and if they give the horse even a little more puff it's probably worth it xx

They don't work with snorers.....

10% of people who snore do so due to a nasal problem. Things like deviated septum or polyps. A small number of this 10% have nasal collapse which "can" cause snoring ....sad geeky bit over!!!

MGS' (OH) horse suffered with nose bleeds XC. Since using flairstrips hasn't been a problem !

Really? When I used to event I put Carl Hester stuff on my horses nose very similar to vick but smelt nicer and not so strong.

Thats the stuff!!
I couldn't think where I'd seen it or rather smelled it!
I didn't realise it was banned....being a numpty here:
What part is banned?
Is Vicks as an over the counter brand banned or is it an ingredient that is banned?
Would the Carl Hester stuff be banned?
