Probably a stupid question but...

...does anyone hunt with studs in? I've never jumped off grass without and am probably being a complete namby pamby but am feeling queezy at the thought of jumping without them but can't see how I'd manage to stud up at the meet. Am probably being a complete wuss but am taking my girl hunting for the first time at the weekend and now the outdoor SJ season has finished I told my farrier not to put stud holes in....so no way I can stud up at the weekend anyway.... so does anyone use them and if not do you have any problems skidding around in the mud!
Also having read the article in this weeks H&H it sounds like noone puts boots on either which is an alien concept to a SJer like me....
Am becoming paranoid about my little mare getting injured.... someone tell me to give my head a shake please LOL.
