I have a 7.5 ton lorry, with room for three but am usually travelling one. In the trailer he travelled in previously there was quite a wide space either side of him (16.2 TB). As the partitions are currently set up the space is much narrower, not quite touching his sides. Before we go anywhere I just wondered if there was a recommended minimum space - he's travelling herringbone so I wondered whether it was better slightly narrower so he could brace against the partitions, but obviously I won't be able to travel with a saddle on if they're too narrow. Saddling up on arrival could well prove to be a nightmare as he's absolutely nuts for the first few minutes and as we're mostly hunting, time may on occasion be limited!

Any suggestions as to what sort of space there needs/ought to be.

I rang a horsebox manufacturer as hubby is renovating an old box for me and was told for a 16.2 they would allow 8ft x 3ft of space.
