....when you wash a horse, does the 'saddle patch' go a lot darker than the rest of the coat, even if you havent just ridden? I washed Elz yesterday, and noticed as soon as I got her wet, she looked like she had a saddle on.....I also noticed that the wetter she became (ie. after the 2nd shampoo) it had disappeared again.

Why?

Ooooh I'm glad people are having to guess....I thought I'd be made to feel a right twit! It obviously isnt a common known fact then?

Oils/grease sounds feasible, although I wouldnt have thought of that
