I've had my new muck boots (pink/brown) for about six weeks now. And am so angry that the colour on the base is coming away in patches, leaving the black underneath showing thru - they look like they're ready for the bin

I've contacted Muck Boots head office, and had no reply. I've also contacted the ebay seller and had no reply - now these boots aren't cheap, and I'm so angry that I took a chance after finally retiring my mudruckers.

Can anyone suggest what I should do, apart from burn these boots outside their head office, and march around with sandwich boards ?

you need to get in contact with the shop you bought them from. They are the ones you need to return the boots to to get a refund, but Muck Boots. Your contract of sale is with the shop and Muck Boot Company will not deal with you direct.

If it helps, I work now and then in a saddlery that sell them and don't recall getting any returns, so may be a dodgy pair.
