the lowdown on pony is that in the two years we have had him he has never had any issues with travelling in a trailer. however about 8 weeks ago on the way back from a show he slipped in his trailer and nearly fell over and was panicking, sweating etc. and it took us quite a long time to get him out and ages until he settled. after that his jumping went a bit crazy and he was rushing at the fences etc. so we got the back lady out who confirmed our suspicions that he had put his back out of sync. we have been doing gentle exercises for the last month (lungeing and 10 mins schooling to build up muscle) and she has been coming to massage his back and has basically given him the all clear again. we wanted to try him in the trailer again as we were convinced that he would be terrified to load but to our surprise he loaded happily as if nothing was wrong. he was fine in the trailer until we went round a corner and then it was like the right side of his body gave way again and we had to stop and unload etc. We have since tried this again and exactly the same thing happens - he is absolutely happy to load and travel on the straight but as soon as you turn a corner his right legs give way. Now ats a bit of a loss as to what to do as he has had his back checked and is not scared of loading into the trailer but only has this little problem of keeping his right legs straight and so we don't know what to do which could make him stay stable throughout the whole journey and not give way, any tips as i am getting pretty desperate!?
