Problem with Quad/motor bikes

Does anyone else have a problem with quad and motor bikes where they hack?

I keep my horse in Bexley, which is one of the most populated horse areas in the South East. We do not have many areas to ride in as we are surrounded by roads, we are fortunate to have Joydens wood which is run by the Woodland trust and a small wood adjoining it which is council run, but no council in the surrounding area wishes to take responsibility for it.........

Over the past year, we have been plagued by quads and motor bikes. This has caused accidents, which so far have not been too serious.

The woods are used by riding schools and private riders using permits (well most of them!). Does anyone else have this problem and how have you solved it, the local police don't care and if they have arrived 3 hours later the bikes have gone? Any suggestions....have already thought of the string across the path

All you can't do is keep reporting incidents to the police.......complaints=action. Our local common get quite a number of bikers on the bridleway (bikes are allowed if it is a byway), but now has posters up with the local community officer to contact.

I am in Bexley too. I'm a bit of an old bag and have confronted and shouted at the youngsters on the quads, they turned around and went back down parsonage lane! I have to say I have only seen them twice in the last year and have never seen a motorbike so can't comment on how much of a problem it is. Now I know shouting isn't very helpful (!) but how about telephoning the BHS access officer and the council officer responsible for bridleways and the police to see the extent of the problem. Plus the BHS may have some advice as to what to do. The quads shouldn't be in the woods so we know that they are breaking the law. I'll ask at the yard to see if others are having the same problem as I haven't really experienced it that much. If all the yards plus Mascals and the other little riding school got together and lobbied the police/council I bet we could solve it. How often does it happen and have you recorded it?
