I had my rescue terrier bitch spayed 4 weeks ago. She recovered OK and all seemed Ok at the check up a week after the op. However, at the one end of the scar a small lump has developed and one of the dissolvable stitches is still poking out, just before the lump. I took her back to the vets last week and saw the nurse who took her temperature and said it was OK and there was no infection. The lump is still there, is hard (a bit like a boil) and slightly pink. The dog doesnt seem bothered by it. Should I go back to the vets and make a fuss? Is there anything I could put on it like cream or something?

Not a spay, but just had my dog neutered and at hi 10 day check the vet nurse said that they quite often get a bump from the stitches that are under the skin but that it goes of its own accord. No harm in getting the vet to check her out just in case though.
