Hi can anyone give me advice. My usually calm gelding thorough bred, has changed fields with his other friends. He is know difficult to catch really stressed when away from the others and constantly calls for them when we are out. Is this normal, will it pass and is just because he has new grass. Also would anyone recomend cutting his hard feed until he settles ?? Thanks for any help !!

let him settle... my boy gets pretty stressy and clingy to his field mates when he is moved. After he moved and before we started work again i let him settle in the field. A few days before i started working him again i took him out of the field every day for a small feed and fuss then returned him to his pals. when i started working him i think he knew he would get back to his field again once we were finished.

It depends on how much grass he has got.. I couldnt stop my lads hard feed at this time of the year as there is not enough to keep him going.

thats one only you can call

Thanks this is good advice. He was a bloody nightmare to catch this morning and too stressed to eat. So I took him for a walk tried him with hay (no did'nt want it). I have never seen him move so fast when I let him back into the field. Will go and see him and give him a cuddle and a carrot (if I can get near him)

His field is huge. I tried to feed him this morning. He was really stressed. So I took him for a walk.
