I recently picked up a very nice prestige close contact jumping saddle with matching prestige girth on ebay. It is a great fit for the horse and me

the only problem is that the billet straps are so thick that they barely pass through the buckle and are getting worn/ frayed on the ends as it is such a tight squeeze.

Any one else had this problem and have you found a solution?

Thanks

Not had this problem myself (a prestige saddle - I wish!!), but you should be able to ask your saddler to replace the girth straps for some that fit the girth better. Shouldn't cost much as the straps are usualy purchased ready made and would just need stitching onto the webbing that holds the current girth straps. Even if they are not a standard type of girth strap, then having them cut to fit and attached really shouldn't be too much. Good luck!
