After loads of different ideas from people the vet has decided that Daisy's problem is tendons. We're waiting to go into the hospital for scans next Tuesday to see how bad it is.

Has anyone got any stories of tendon injuries that don't mean an end to an active life for your horse? Daisy would be a terrible companion horse and isn't suited to light hacking. I know that every case is different but it would really help to hear of other people's experiences with this.

Thanks

Lots of horses come back from tendon injuries! It just takes time and patience. They dont necessarily compete at Badminton again but I dont think that will worry you!

You just have to adjust your dreams slightly!

Until you know the result of the scan you cant be sure of anything. I know its worrying you but until you know what the problem is you cant make any plans. When you know Im sure loads of people will be willing and able to help.

Be patient- I know its not easy. Good luck! I hope you get to the bottom of your pony's problems soon.

My girl had a tendon injury last October. She was boxed for 8 months, but I feel that this was too long. She had one month boxed then we started walking in hand morning and night and taking her for grass. This lasted about two months and then I started riding again. She is now totally sound on the tendon and to be honest I don't really think about it now (front lameness has taken over!) But as long as you are patient and don't push it the tendon should heal....so don't dispair!
