OK being brave!

Garth (or Garffy as I like to call him from Birds of a Feather;)) came to me almost 5 weeks ago been out of work for a while- fluffy and a bit lean (not poor or unloved my any measure) but dream character and just had 'something about him'.

When I viewed him

1st week was snow so we just had some bonding time :D Had his back done a as part of routine but also they way he stood really worried me... misaligned pelvis which was put right, standing better and better everyday since and follow up appointment next week.

4th week I've been in spain for half term so he's had every other day lunging

5th week - well today.... I schooled him a bit in the field lots of bending serpentines etc etc and he's starting to really stretch long and low both in walk and trot :) But took advantage of a dog walker (not in that way :o) and got some 'onboard' pictures (yes I look like a sack of spuds - i'm blaming the week in Marbs on the Carbs- flatwork lesson tomorrow)

I hope you think he has improved- we still have WAY to go I know that but I think we're heading in the right direction!

I think he looks very sweet. Though to be fair, I don't think he's a sorry looking horse in the top pic, just looks like a horse living out and with no topline to me, whereas now he's looking more pampered and I'm sure he's enjoying every minute of it.

It's made that bit from Wallace and Gromit pop into my head, "You look like somebody owns you now!" How random!

He looks lovely !!! Amazing how his coat looks shiny in just one week, what are you feeding him ?

Not huge amounts as he wasn't 'skinny' and I didn't want to pump him full of food. So he's on half a scoop of baileys no4, same of sugarbeat and a small amount of Coolstance (thats what gives the shine- made from coconut and full of oils) and not expensive at all!. He's on good grass in the day and a big haynet at night.
