Project Horses Ad

I was quite shocked to see that I know the advertiser, I didn't realise she had problems with this mare. I'd say the price was good (not a biased opinion)

I would say that's a fair price if everything else is as described. When i bought Daisy (for alot more than that) I was told she wouldn't hack alone and it only took me a couple of months to get her happy with it. She'll happily go for hours on her own now, she just needed a confident rider and she was fine. With a bit of luck you'll find a small adult that will take her on and have the confidence to address her issues.

Im being honest here......

I dont think you should have this horse on PH. If everything you say about your horse is correct and there are no other issues then I would just advertise as normal to an experienced cmpetent owner. Reading your ad leads me to think that either a little patience or a good smack will soon cure this napping. There are an awful lot of bolshy teenagers out there who wouldnt think twice about a horse that was doing little bunny hops when going off the yard alone, would give a big grrrr and a smack with the whip and then the problem would be resolved.

Im not generalising here but there are a certain type of people who pick up horses off PH who are what I would call wooly bunny huggers looking for a horse they can Parelli/natural Horsemanship/ Intelligent something or other. Now not all these folks are bonkers but some most definitely are and I think you would be selling your horse short.

Is there no way you could have someone bolder than yourself come and sort this napping problem out for you prior to selling on the more mainstream ad sites? theres no reason at all why you shouldnt be honest about the napping even if its resolved, in fact i think most buyers would welcome your honesty.

I think with the right hands it would be fine, I think it has learnt to take the Michael a bit!!

Or maybe it is expressing its insecurity? Sometimes horses behaviour needs a bit more understanding and the appropriate help. In this case the mum and son are unable to help the horse, so its behaviour has got worse. Doesnt mean its a bad horse, or its taking the p!ss, its just in the wrong home. And to be fair to the owner, she has realised this.

I think the advert is ok and the price is fine.

I agree with this post!

My mum bought a horse that didnt hack alone, the dealer told me he wouldnt leave the yard..... got him home, and he hacked fine.... just had a problem where he would buck me off now and then, hacking alone/with or in the school.
He'd just been allowed to get away with it!! Sounds like a bargain!!
Last time i looked on project horses everything was £3k+ oh how times have changed!

reasonable price for a nice little mare, just needs someone a bit braver and with more experience to give her confidence and be firm with her.

Is this your horse? If so, helloooo, didn't realise it was you

Don't generalise about who buys and sells there either. My friend has just sold her "project" via that site, to a very experienced lady who knows her horses.
Who advertises, buys, and what they say on the site is their business, nobody else's.
