Just wondered if anyone had any luck using this site for selling? I've a 15.2hh rising 6 yrs Shire x TB, and was wondering if it was worth trying him on there or maybe just go straight for H & H?

Depends, is your horse a real project? Personally we have sold one though HorseMart and one though HorseQuest. I think Shire x TB seems to be quite a popular mix, sure I have seen a few people on here asking about them.

He's very smart looking, he's been turned out since Autumn as I had an accident (motorbike!) and have been able to do very little. He'd done a little of everything previously. eg unaffiliated dressage/sj. He can be nappy when hacking alone. And as the person I used to ride out with is no longer around I don't feel confident enough to get him going. He obviously needs rebacking now, this should be quite easy though as he's basically pretty quiet, just have no one here to help me get it done. I was going to ask £1500.

I have bought 2 horses from the project horse website. Both true projects that are both prooving to be lovely horses now after some work ( and 1 operation!!) both priced and advertised reasonably and truthfully. However I have seen many horses on this website that are not true 'projects' or are very very over priced for what they are. From what you have said your chap might suit this site but at the same time would probably sell equally well on a site like Horsemart where you will probably get a better array of potential buyers.

Yes. My friend sold her horse via Project Horses, first as loan vtb, then very quickly the lady decided to keep him. I think the advantage of that site is that you have space to give a full description of your horse, including why you think it is a "project".

Thanks all, will get him lunging etc in next few weeks (if the ground ever dries up and if I can get time away from work!) and try advertising him. He's to smart to go to waste but as I have my own land and he lives off fresh air it's been far to easy keeping him as a field ornament with my little pony!
