Ive tried almost every single site there is, but there's just nothing what we're looking for....within our budget. Our budget is very tight, as we're setting aside some cash for tack rugs etc
Try a "wanted" ad, I couldn't find what I was after and placed a wanted ad on Preloved and now have exactly what I was after - still getting lots of replies too.
If I were you I would put aside the money you will be paying for livery, bedding, feed, shoeing, teeth, worming, etc for the next 6 months. This will give you a more realistic budget to start with.
The problem with cheap horses is that too often (but not always) there are expensive problems lying in wait for you.
I've got one, but I'm a long way from you, (suffolk) but would be prepared to deliver at cost. Here he is http://www.adhorse.co.uk/horseforsale_29467.html. He's a dear little man, so want a super home for him.
Not all the cheaper ones are iffy.... I've had mine on for ages and nothing wrong with him, its just the recession and people are dropping prices....he's only 13hh though.

Not all cheaper ones, I agree, but a lot are. You could probably find an unbroken 3yo for that... but with an older broken one, a lot of the time, particularly 14.2hh-16.2hh, (the height a lot of people want) you will most likely be buying a problem.
Put out a wanted advert in all the freebie horsey websites and any local freebie newspaper? That's what I've always done in the past and have bought ALL my project ponies that way (especially useful when you have a low budget and want a "true" project as you get people who have something they think isnt worth anything in their field doing nothing answering your ad)!
I got India for £450!! there is hope out there for you x If you go to the sales, dont go on your own, take a friend even if its just for support!
Good Luck
