HI - I am in the market to buy a new girth (really would like to find a second hand one) and have decided on a prolite. we usually buy a 44inch girth but have heard that these girths come up big. Can anyone advise if this is the case, although i am unsure how this can be, if it measures 44 inches buckle to buckle how can it 'come up big' unless they mean it stretches???
Thanks

mine was between a 42 and 44 standard sizeing, depending on time of year (all with elasticated ends), generally the 44 better. He was a 44 in a prolite.

My horse was up to the top of the saddle girth straps (hole 5) with a normal 48" girth. I was told to go for the same length in a Prolite because they are a thicker which makes them seem shorter. Good advice, the girth is now on hole 3 which is the lowest hole that can be used for riding on my saddle.
