Prolite pad or Nuumed half numnah?

I'm looking for something to raise my saddle slightly as it's sitting too low. Saddler suggested a barnsby (I think) numnah which had a neoprene type material where the saddle would sit to cushion and give a little lift. However I don't think this would work for me as I just want something to slip under saddle rather than a whole numnah. A Prolite pad seems the obvious way to go, but I tried one before and it always slipped out the back, and I found them quite firm. I came across a Griffin Nuumed wool half numnah, which looks lovely. It has the Hiwither cut (so won't pull down on his withers like current numnah does), and straps to attach to the D ring on saddle so it won't move about. It looks lovely for the horse, but would it give enough lift to the saddle or am I wasting my money? Other suggestions very welcome! Thanks :) xxx
 
They are excellent quality numnahs and come in 2 different wool weights so the higher the weight the thicker. As above though, if the saddle doesnt fit properly then the numnah wont make a lot of difference.
 
i have both, and suggest that the prolite pad is more what (it sounds like) you need.

They don't really slip about, and although they feel very firm, they are made from the same stuff used in wheelchair seats to help prevent sores as it moulds around lumps and bumps to make sure there's no pressure points.
 
Thanks for that, the saddle isn't too bad but could just do with being raised slightly until he gains condition in the spring. I'd love to get a Nuumed one, this might just give it enough padding until he muscles up with more work and grass in the spring. However, I guess I could get a prolite adjustable front raiser, which would probably also come in handy as I can fiddle about to get a better wither clearance.
 
i have a prolite pad for the reason you suggest i have the general half pad in extra wide and dont have any problems with it at all and was suggested to me by my saddle fitter
