I was considering buying http://www.amazon.co.uk/Prolite-Wid...PFCU/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1330520572&sr=8-3 for my young horse who is thin skinned. Will a Prolite pad stop chaffing? My saddle is fitted, but the panels are still rubbing him slightly at the very back (under the cantle.) He's WB and very prone to rubs - even his headcollar leaves bald patches if I leave it on him for more than half an hour and that's with a sheepskin lining

Just wondered if the Prolite texture would help prevent the friction as he moves under the saddle?

Have you tried a 1/2 sheepskin saddlecloth?

I would think sheepskin would be better than a prolite for preventing rubs and wouldn't alter the saddle fit as much.
