Horse has been on and off sound for past month...
soaking x2 daily and poulticing
White area with holes developed gradually along heel...any ideas? Wondering if it’s just from vet wrap and soaking ... or if it’s the abscess working it’s way up to the coronet band???

I've seen that in wet hooves before - where they've been in a paddock with no dry area for prolonged periods

Definitely an abscess?

I've had that in hooves that have been wet for too long. I would stop wet poulticing and let the foot dry out. I've generally found tubbing twice a day for 20 minutes in as warm as possible water gets the abscess moving anyway.

I think I would consider getting the farrier to remove the shoe and keep tubbing with Epsom salts.
ETA if the pus is in the back of the foot removing the shoe may help to push it out.

I'd get the shoe off and poultice with a dry poultice and possibly add some drawing paste - a few years ago my mare had a nasty one in her heel and I got given an ancient pot of drawing paste and it popped within 24 hours. Might have been coincidence but I used the rest of the pot a few months later and got pus within the day too.

Its the same as Epsom salts except less wet and you can leave it under the poultice

Hmm, very hard to tell from these shots, we really need a side view ground level to assess the hoof capsule shape. However....
There appears to be alot of heel extending out the back of the foot unsupported by the shoe. The widest part of the foot looks quite far forward indicating a weak digital cushion. The heels appear collapsed with the hairline diving towards the ground. The lameness could be from bruising to the heels as they are unsupported and too close to the ground. Or it could be caudal heel pain from the shoe placement. Honestly cant tell it could be the angles from these shots making it look like this so take all this with a pinch of salt!!!
I would be taking some time out of shoes and doing some barefoot rehab to improve the overall hoof capsule. I'm not sure abcesses are the cause of your problems.
