Propell Plus

Pro pell plus contains a full spectrum of vits/mins - so I wouldn't use it with a balancer - have a look at NAF EnerG it just contains b vits and iron.
Feed for maintenance to competing or working horses to support energy utilisation and performance. Ideal tonic following any challenge resulting in poor blood profiles and lethargy

It isn't quite full spec but it is close. It is quite safe to feed alongside a standard balencer but would be a bit of a waste of money as you are duplicating some of the ingredients. What is does have is lots of iron and echniacea.

We've found ProPell excellent for a bit of tlc when neds needs some immune support. EnerG is definitely better for just providing more oomph. You can't feed them together - too much iron! You need to feed ProPell for 3 or 4 days before there is an effect, and keep going. EngerG is a bit more direct and can be fed 24 hours before the desired result and stopped again later. I don't think either is desgined for really long term use - but I'm open to being corrected on that.

You might want to think about what you are trying to supplement and why. You might be able to feed a compound and something like ProPell or EnerG without the need for a balencer. Or just use ProPell etc when you need a bit of a pick me up. Most feed companies offer nutritional advice - it might be worth giving one of them a ring.

Oh - both taste (and smell) of iron. Some Neds don't like the taste. I always know when ours need the ProPell - they actually eat it! EngerG has an overlay of mint to try to make it more palatable. But if you have a fussy one don't get too big a bottle to start with!

I'd like to continue with her balancer as it contains her joint supplement. Just looking for something to pick her up as old age has hit her hard and she seems like she needs a little pick me up. If Propell isnt suitable, does anyone have any other suggestions to help my little OAP?

Thanks :)

I fed red cell along side a balancer when my horse was recovering from a little poorly spell, this was advised by the feed company I was using and my horse experinced no ill effects. He was only fed the balancer for 3 months, just red cell now. I think propell plus is similar, but contact your feed company if your unsure.
