Hello All,

A couple of you have asked how this pony is now, so I thought I would add a photo..

For those that didn't see it, and are interested there was a post back in May trying to rehome a rescued pony very quickly. To cut a long story short it was all a bit cloak and dagger and wrongly assumed that the user that posted was some Franch rescue nut, and the post was deleted... Anyway, with the help of a rescue centre closer to the pony than I was, he was collected before he was PTS and came to live with me a week later.

He is twoish, about 12hh now and a real sweety. Still not gelded him yet as we only have geldings at home, he is going nowhere and you wouldnt know he is a colt, so am waiting til all the flies have gone, but here he is!! Any suggestions re breeding welcome.. I haven't got a clue what he is!!.. Apologies if the image isn't actually there, my technical skills are lacking to say the least!!

hes lovely , im fairly new here what are franch rescue nuts? and why would the post be deleated and by whom?? oh and he could be NF or NFx.

What a lovely boy. I would hazard a guess that there is New Forest there.

Thank you for all your comments! I feel quite the proud parent!!

Sorry, somebody involved in the ermmm... Rescue?! Of French horses intended for slaughter (more often than not less than honest dealer interested only in making money) posted on here a while back and spelt French wrong every time!!

I Admin would have deleted it, but being a relative newbie myself am not 100% sure how it all works but it is very much a banned discussion topic!!

Fantastic to see him....what a difference now he's lost all his wool!!! For those of you who don't know...I'm the supposed French rescue nut, who took him in at short notice and transported him to his new mum. Before anyone jumps on me, YES I do have involvment with French Rescues but not to the point where we forget our own

I know!! He looks quite grown up now!! It's only when you compare him to the photos from even before you went to get him that you can see how much he has changed!!

He's getting so good, with supervision (obviously!) my six year old son picks his feet out and brings him in with no trouble at all. Which for a baby, especially one from who knows where is just brilliant!!!

Struck me about him too.

What a darling little man. So glad it worked out well for him - despite the unhelpful swiftness of the delete button being pressed.

Well done you!

as i remember, this had feck all to do with "Franch Rescue"...i'm surprised its still discribed as such, as the subject has moved on from that now.

Two HHO members, contacted myself after posting on here about 2 ponies that were in a very precarious situation.
The details at the time were, quite rightly, kept off open forum.
and in true HHO fashion, things got a tad heated..the thread was deleted!

I myself, was offered these ponies, and at that time, due to logistics, was unable to take them, so as i was a forum friend at that time, suggested BER as she was closer and in a position to have the pony..who has, as it seems, found a foster home for him.

so no, as you all can see, feck all to do with so called "Franch Rescue" at all...

OP...if you wish to learn more about the more dubious side of so called "Franch Rescue" have a look on here...

Sorry if you have misunderstood me, he has indeed been nowhere near France!! His situation was completely genuine, but could potentially have caused problems for those taking care of him at the time if the details had been posted (Hence why there are also no details of his past now!!)

I emailed the original poster after the post had been deleted to find out more and say that if the situation was genuine I could take him if we could get him down to me, and then between myself and BER we were able to collect him in time, and then BER very kindly transported him for me, as she is already full to the brim with ponies, particulary young colts!

no misunderstanding here...i know his past..where he was from/how and why he needed rehoming...

and he looks like a PB NF.

He's stunning! Lovely mahogany colour! I doubt there's exmoor in there. I have two and their heads are wider/longer. There's no toad-eye about him and X-breeds tend to have the mealy muzzle from what I've seen.

My betting is Welsh x NF.
