My 3 yr old filly has quite a large one on her neck. Obviously, I knew it was there when I bought her, and is no issue to me. However.....

It has been suggested to me by a couple of people on my yard that I should try my hand and show her. She was not bought for this purpose and I have no visions of taking the showing circuit by storm.....but it could be fun?!

So, really what I would like to know is, is her thumb mark likely to go against her in the ring? I'm thinking it probably would? As I said, this would be for fun, but nice to be prepared should I decide we will take the plunge...lol!!:D

Any thoughts/experience of this greatly appreciated.

I'm not entirely sure to be honest with you, but if you are going out at local level for fun and experience then it really shouldn't matter. It is not there due to injury or poor conformation so shouldn't really be marked down. Get out there and have some fun with her :)

Should definitely not go against her. I've had a couple of my mares win at County with big Prophet Thumb Marks on them and to be honest, you should think yourself fortunate as they are considered to be very lucky for the horse. Good luck with your plans.

Thankyou:)

Well I kind of had the same thought process as you at first.....not through injury/ bad confo, then wasnt so sure....but I'm not to hot on the ins and outs of showing really....

As you said, it wouldnt matter either way really to us....

Just wanted to be prepared incase I got a snotty comment that I wasnt expecting, lol!! Of course....shes devastatingly beautiful to me anyhow :p!!

It is our local show, but afew of the classes appear to be qualifiers for bigger things....so that scares me abit to,lol!!

Thankyou Penniless.....glad to hear you've had success with these special marks, lol.

And yes, I reckon Ive been lucky finding her, so its a good start, lol.:)
