Hi,
The British Government are thought to be considering plans to restrict photography in public places including parks,
This could make it illegal for people to take snaps in the street or in parks unless they apply for an ID card which identifies them as a professional photographer .
please sign the online no 10 petition
@ http://petitions.pm.gov.uk/Photography/
as this is another infringement by Blair into our rights (UK citizen's only)
Please pass this on to friends as we should unite against this proposal.

Please could you all sign it? As this could also mean no pictures taken of horses out hacking

OH - so it's OK then for us to be the most CCTV monitored country in Europe (approx. 14 CCTV cameras for every single citizen btw) but NOT for joe public to take a picture of a squirrel

what a load of rubbish.

(oh and CCTV cameras of course NEVER take pictures in public places.......and are speed camera operators going to be licensed as photographers ??)

the soone this nanny state gov. gets sent somewhere it deserves (hot and 'down below' ) the better.

What????? This is just crazy. At this rate we won't be allowed to leave our own homes! (And when we do, we will be monitored either by a tracker on our car or any number of CCTV cameras...

). I took a photo of Buchanan Street last time I was in Glasgow. I take photos when I take my dog for a walk. Does that make me some sort of threat? *rolls eyes*

How uttlerly mad. So no more holiday snaps for tourists then... my, that'll be a boost to the economy.

Totally unenforceable too... by the time it comes round we'll all have decent digital cameras in our mobiles and be able to photograph things covertly!

Wasn't there an uproar a few years ago about schools banning photography at school concerts, carol services etc etc?

Amongst other things, my brother is an underwater photographer and instructor, is it banned underwater too?

Yes, they'll fine you under 'Copyright laws' for taking a piccy of a local view. Similar to Churches and Cathedrals who make you pay a fee to take a pic of the innards of the building to pay the Copyright fee. Money grabbers them all

Don't get too excited guys! (Also posted in PG)

The truth about this is that some camera clubs are proposing that there should be an ID card for professional photographers who may be photographing for example children in parks. This petition has been set up by one photographer who is against the idea. IF and it is a very big if anything does happen, it won't affect the general public but should stop anyone posing as a professional photographer taking advantage of vulnerable people.

Thought it sounded a little far fetched, even for Blair
