I quite like teaching ‘tricks’ and it seems that Spanish Walk can only encourage a horse to use its hindquarters?
What are the cons ... is it bad for young horses? Or put too much pressure of various joint, or only ok if your horse is naturally uphill or already reached a certain level? Have you successfully taught it? Thanks!

Have you taught the jambette? That's the first step and needs to be really good and clear before you move on.

Pros - it helps to really release the shoulder which can help to teach a high action collected walk and trot later and add cadence to the passage. It is also good fun

Cons, if they are not carrying enough weight on the hind legs it can lead to hollowing in the back. If they are the type to enjoy learning tricks then they offer it way too often, mostly at entirely inappropriate times. They can accidentally strike the handler, even if you think you are well out of the way :D

How old is the horse in question?

I think I would want to be sure the horse's back is soft and relaxed and the postural support required is from the horse's core .. if those muscles aren't up to it I think you could end up creating more tension in the back
