Prostate problems - a question

I posted yesterday about my rotties trip to the emergency vet & the vets thought that he may have a prostate problem.

Just a thought but we recently took on another male rottie and since then our full male has unusually had a few erections. Is it possible that bringing a new dog in has increased his testosterone production and this has caused the problem?

I am clutching at straws I know but it does seem a coincidence. If this is the case when he is castrated could this possibly 'fix' anything that is wrong?

Did your vet examine him to see if he had an enlarged prostate gland, also has he been used at stud? A dog we used to have ( sadly no longer with us ) developed an infected prostate gland when we retired him from stud duties but luckily antibiotics cleared it up. My vet friend thinks that neutering him may help. Good luck
