Like many of us do, I make up morning feeds the night before and leave outside stables with a lid on them for the YM in the morning.
I add a small amount of sugarbeet into the feeds in Winter. My question is, having water as a componant in the feed - how do you stop your feeds freezing? I have seen some cover or wrap with towels, does this work?

Need to make this easy for the YM to get along with so I can't ask her to be adding water from a flask or anything!

I live in ne Scotland, had some awful low temps last year and my sugar beet never froze. I made my beet up the night before in a purpose bought thick plastic bucket with lid, and asked my yo to add beet from bucket to feed. Never had a problem with it freezing, but I don't add a heap of excess water and the type I used was quick soaking so most of the water would have been absorbed fairly quickly. Hope that helps? X
