im looking at a new BP this spring, ive only had my racesafe for 4 years but ive come off in it quite a lot and wear it every time i ride. Im thinking of getting kanteq this time.

what i wondered was, without a point2, is there any other product or BP that offers neck protection?

None of them really offer neck protection!

Do as the victorians did out hunting- a good old fashioned correctly fitting stock not the pre-tied ones!

As for bps - got myself a point two, I do query that they stop the tuck and roll syndrome that we ought to do during a fall but cannot fault mine

I can't see anyway of protecting the neck that would be practical.

I also have RA which can weaken the neck joint and leave it delicate to the point of dangerous. so I looked around a bit to see what might help and didn't find anything I would feel comfortable using

I am a first responder for the ambulance service so quite a well trained first person on scene, so have at least some idea of what would be needed

i think most dont simply because designing it to fit without it riding up, poking or being generally uncomfy is hard!
Also you need to be able to turn your head quite a lot to look where your going - so protecting it is logistically difficult

try looking for things like this instead

that neck support looks quite good actually! anyone else use one?

A well-tied stock offers the neck some support, but no actual protection... It's why they're recommended for XC riding and hunting.
