Protesters at Royal Wedding?

I am definitely not a royalist and probably will not be watching but demos are beyond the pale! I agree arrest them and keep our streets safe for those who want to celebrate.

One has to prove an attempt or plot against the sovreign or members of the royal family to bring a charge of Treason - I'm afraid that waving a few banners won't quite cut the mustard - as much as some of us would wish.

Well they are plotting. They've said they're going to disrupt the wedding, and that could put the future sovreign's life at risk.

Flog 'em, chuck 'em in the tower ... and yes, isn't the death penalty technically still on the books for (high?) treason? That would pull a few people up short, wouldn't it.

Brilliant. Go Wills. Start as you mean to go on. Put your foot down!

| think the police should kettle all of them in to a safe area and let them fight it out :D
See who comes out on top??? the EDL or the UK taliban, (poppy burners)

in fact the poppy burners should just be chucked out anyway. If they're so keen on extremist states they can bog off and live in Afgan.

I fail to see why we tolerate such crap. Yes, I know it's because we are free. Which is the main thing. But I still don't think we should put up with it. Grr.

I've already decided its time to get out the Lord of the Rings trilogy extended version on friday :-)

I can't stand the Royal family but hope nothing serious happens and it goes smoothly for them. Oh and thanks for the day off :-)

I wouldn't be demonstrating against it.

Um yes they was a bit on R4 this morning about how many islamic terrorists had been given asylum in the uk
very concerning are we finaly wakeing up or is it too late ???

The bit that got me about the poppy burners is that one of them was actually insulting his own grandfather who had died fighting with the British (and French and Americans and Candians and Irish and Scottish and Aussies and....) in WW2.

Some of these extremists really do not have a clue do they. Its a wedding, what on earth could be insulting about that?

Sorry but agreeing that the tower should come back into use. These people give others a bad name.

Water cannons would be fun!!! What they should think about before protesting is that the whole thing is actually someones wedding - how would they feel if a bunch of t**ts ruined their special day???

Totally agree - whether they are pro-royal or not they should be ashamed to consider protesting. It's someone's special day, one they want to remember (as a happy day!) so i think its quite disgusting people feel they have a right to protest. They don't like the fact that "we" are paying for it. Firstly, I sincerely doubt we are actually paying for the wedding itself and secondly I don't recall any extra money being taken in respect of taxes from my salary to pay for it! Therefore it's not like I have noticed any chunk of my cash disappearing.

It anoys me more that MY taxes have to contribute to pay to have a ridiculous amount of police officers in attendance at football matches every week to keep the peace as people can't possibly watch a game without causing trouble!

What grates me is I suspect many who protest are those who don't work or pay taxes anyway (ok sweeping generalisation but are bet there are some amongst them!).

I am happy for people getting married, not sure I will watch it (a church wedding is dull enough even when you KNOW the people getting married! Lol). But good luck to them all the same!

Ahhh, so this is why the Household Cavalry carry all that gleaming metal, swords, bayonets etc ..... so OK then, have a sharpening session, then get the baddies and put them in the middle of the Mall, then line 'em all up and let 'em at the blighters at the gallop I say - get someone to blow "gone away" and Holloa ..... what better entertainment could you want? Better than the main event IMO.

Every single uk taxpayer should of been invited to the sit down meal they are having as we are the muppetts paying for it all

I will be watching the wedding.
But I am also a believer in republics.
I believe that there are enough republics out there to house non royalists without having them cluttering up England with their republican views.

See, I do not see why people think 'we' would be paying for it at all to be honest. I would like to see the proof as opposed to people just assuming this. Why would people not think that the parents and possibly Will and Kate themselves are actually paying for it? Charles makes money from his farms and estate and I am sure Kate's parents have money spare to put towards a wedding. Why do people think the UK taxpayer is footing the bill? Yes, taxes will be going towards paying for security and the police presence but I seriously doubt we're paying for the canapes and DJ!!

Poppy burning, hook handed blind haters of the UK...who just happen to be the supporters and creators of some of the worst terrorists, surprised they weren't invited to the soire?

That would be fantastic! :D

It's costing us 20 million apparently!

It's costing us 20 million apparently!

And the estimate is that visitors to London will spend an extra 50 million over just these four days.

Not counting the fact that the Royal family pull in hundreds of thousands of visitors, all spending money in our country, every year.

Anyone else fed up of seeing upside down Union Flags??? Just wish that the mass produced flags could have got it right.

Royalist or republican, it doesn't matter, we should take pride in our National flag and at least be able to fly it properly!!
